Dive into the breathtaking covenant heart of biblical marriage. Pastor Andrew Coleman describes Genesis 2:24's call to leave, cleave, and become one flesh; this mirrors God’s unbreakable vow to Israel (Hosea 2:19–20; Jeremiah 31:31–34) and finds its ultimate fulfillment in Christ the Bridegroom (Ephesians 5:31–32; Revelation 19:6–9). Trace pre-Fall truths, Old Testament symbols like the bride price and ketubah, and see marriage as sacred covenant, not contract. Witness divine faithfulness triumph over human failure; the church is forever united to the Lamb, hearts transformed and promises sealed by Christ’s blood (Luke 22:20). Watch now and let this divine blueprint ignite your understanding of redemption and eternal oneness.

In 1 Peter 3, Peter continues his theme of holy living, showing that submission and honor within marriage are not signs of weakness but rather are reflections of Christ’s strength and love. Marriage is not man’s idea — it’s God’s grand design from the very beginning. Throughout Scripture, we see many references to this beautiful design for marriage. In Genesis 2, God Himself created woman, brought her to the man, and spoke the covenant of marriage into existence: “The two shall become one flesh.” He performed the first marriage, joining husband and wife together for His glory and their good. Ultimately, marriage is patterned after Christ’s covenant commitment to the Church, and through this physical picture of the relationship between Christ and the church, shows us His love and glory.
Marriage is from God, by God, and for God. It reflects His covenant love — the same love Christ has for His Bride, the Church (Ephesians 5:31–32). When we understand that God is the one who joins a man and woman together, we value and protect marriage with deeper reverence and joy.

In this message from Sheridan Hills Baptist Church, Pastor Jason Hill teaches from 1 Peter 2:18–25 about what it means for a follower of Christ to be subject and to endure suffering. This passage reminds us that submission, even in difficult circumstances or under unjust authority, is not weakness but a powerful testimony of faith. Christ Himself suffered unjustly, leaving us an example to follow. Our response should be rooted in doing good, trusting God's justice, and building our hope on His character rather than our comfort.
The sermon challenges believers to fix their eyes on the unseen God by speaking truthfully about Him, living honorably, and following Christ’s example when hardship comes. Suffering for righteousness is not without purpose; it becomes a witness to the transforming power of the gospel. As we endure, we walk in the new life that God has given us, no longer wandering like lost sheep but living under the care and protection of the Shepherd of our souls.

In this passage, Peter calls believers to live holy lives, even under unjust authority. Submission is not weakness—it is strength rooted in trust that God rules over every human institution. We submit for the Lord’s sake, representing Him to a watching world. By doing good, we silence critics and reflect the goodness of Christ, and as those set free from sin, we use our freedom not for rebellion or selfishness, but to serve God and love others.
Peter closes with four commands that shape every believer’s conduct: Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor. Even when authority is flawed—like Nero’s brutal rule—Christians reveal God’s sovereignty through humble obedience and steadfast faith. True freedom is living as servants of God who bring glory to Him in every sphere of life.

Remember Who You Are | 1 Peter 2:3-9 | Pastor Andrew Coleman | 10/5/2025
Monday Oct 06, 2025
Monday Oct 06, 2025
In the letter of 1 Peter, the Apostle Peter writes to believers living in a hostile, sinful world. His message still speaks to us today. Though rejected by men, God's people are chosen and precious to God, built as living stones into His spiritual house. In Christ, we are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people called out of darkness into His marvelous light.
In 1 Peter 2: 3-9, Peter doesn’t just remind us of our identity, but he urges us to live like it. As sojourners and exiles in this world, we must remember that our true citizenship is not in this world but is in heaven! Therefore, we must resist the passions of the flesh that wage war against our souls. Victory comes not through our strength but through the Spirit’s power, producing fruit that glorifies God. Our lives should shine for Christ so brightly that even when accused or misunderstood, unbelievers may one day see Christ in us and glorify God. The call is clear: remember who you are, walk in holiness, crucify the flesh, and live by the Spirit until the day of His visitation.

In this sermon, Pastor Andrew Coleman continues our 1 Peter series. In 1 Peter 2, believers are reminded that though the world may reject Christ, He is the Cornerstone—chosen and precious in God’s sight. Those who belong to Him are not ordinary; rather, Christians are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His own possession.
Peter calls believers to remember who they once were: lost in darkness, stumbling in unbelief. BUT now, through Christ, Christians are God’s redeemed people, brought into His marvelous light. This identity isn’t earned by works but is given by God’s sovereign choice, His mercy, and the blood of Christ that purchases sinners. As living stones built on Christ the Cornerstone, Christians are called to live holy lives, proclaim His excellencies, and show the world what it means to belong to God. This truth gives believers confidence, security, and purpose, even in a world hostile to the Christian faith.

In this timely message, Pastor Andrew Coleman examines the sons of Issachar from 1 Chronicles 12:32—men who "had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do." Drawing from their example of spiritual discernment and practical wisdom, this sermon explores how believers today can perceive the political, social, and spiritual currents of our moment and respond with godly insight.
From understanding our cultural moment to seizing opportunities with biblical wisdom, Pastor Coleman connects the ancient example of Issachar's leaders to Paul's exhortation in Ephesians 5:15-16 to walk wisely and make the best use of our time. This Christ and Culture message challenges believers to move beyond mere observation to Kingdom-minded action, equipped with spiritual discernment and grounded in God's Word. The sermon is followed by a panel discussion about the cultural moment surrounding Charlie Kirk's assassination.
Panelists include Pastor Andrew Coleman, Pastor Ruben Hernandez, and Brandon McGuire @Daily_Dose_Of_Wisdom

Scripture shows us that God’s truth is not always delivered in soft tones. From the prophets to the apostles—and Jesus Himself—we see instruction, parables, sharp questions, satire, and even rebuke used to pierce pride, expose hypocrisy, and awaken hearts. The “serrated edge” of God’s Word cuts not to destroy, but to heal, calling us to repentance and life.
At Pentecost, Peter boldly proclaimed, “This Jesus, whom you crucified, God has made both Lord and Christ.” The gospel is offensive—it confronts sin and pride—but it also brings hope, mercy, and freedom. Even in times of persecution and cultural conflict, believers are called to speak truth with conviction and compassion, just as Jesus did. In a world filled with competing voices, ideologies, and pressures, we must cling to God’s Word, live as His people, and boldly proclaim Christ.

You Are The House of God | 1 Peter 2:3-9 | Pastor Andrew Coleman | 9/7/25
Monday Sep 08, 2025
Monday Sep 08, 2025
In this sermon, Pastor Andrew Coleman preaches on 1 Peter 2:3–9. In a world that often rejects Christ, God calls His people chosen, holy, and precious in His sight. Jesus is the cornerstone—the sure foundation of our faith—and we, as living stones, are being built into His spiritual house. Through Him, we become a royal priesthood, offering our lives as spiritual sacrifices and proclaiming the One who called us out of darkness into His marvelous light.
This passage reminds us of our identity in Christ and our purpose—to stand firm in Him, live set apart for Him, and glorify God with our lives, even when the world misunderstands or opposes us.

Born Again to Love and Long | 1 Peter 1:22-2:3 | Pastor Ben Nistor | 8/31/25
Monday Sep 01, 2025
Monday Sep 01, 2025
In this sermon, Pastor Ben Nistor teaches on 1 Peter 1:22-2:3. Peter calls believers to live out their new "born again" identity. Being born again is not the end, but it is the beginning of a life marked by sincere love and continual growth. First, born-again Christians love one another earnestly from a pure heart (1:22). This is only possible because God has purified our souls through obedience to His truth. Our love flows from the imperishable seed of new birth—a transformation that does not expire. Second, born-again Christians long for the pure spiritual milk of God’s Word (2:2). Just as infants crave milk for growth, we must hunger for Scripture, for by it we grow up into salvation—if indeed we have tasted that the Lord is good. Third, Peter warns us to put away malice, deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander (2:1)—things that choke out love for others and longing for God's truth.
The text points to four realities: 1) It is impossible to love others without being born again, 2) Love is evidence of spiritual growth, 3) Craving God’s Word is vital for Christian growth, and 4) Longing for the Word of God is a test that verifies if a person is truly born again. Have you been born again? And if so, do you see in your life a growing love for others and a deepening appetite for His Word?
