In this message from 1 Peter 1:13–21, Pastor Jason Hill calls believers to three key actions found in this passage: to set our hope fully on God’s grace, to pursue holiness in all our conduct, and to live with reverent fear of the Lord as we walk through our time on earth. Pastor Jason explains that this fear is not terror but is instead a deep awe and devotion to God, caused as we remember His holiness, His impartial judgment, and the immeasurable cost of our redemption. We were ransomed from an empty life by a precise plan established by God before the foundation of the world so that our faith and hope would rest in God alone. This passage challenges us to examine whether we truly reflect a confident hope, a transformed heart, and a reverent walk that glorifies Christ in a world that desperately needs to see Him.

In this week’s message, “To Be and Not to Be: It Isn’t a Question” from our 1 Peter series, Pastor Ruben Hernandez unpacks 1 Peter 1:13–16 and reminds us that holiness is not optional. It's a command for every believer. As chosen exiles, our identity in Christ calls us to live differently in a world that often opposes Him. Pastor Ruben highlights three key truths. 1) We are called to be obedient children who submit our desires to God’s will, even when it’s uncomfortable or doesn’t make sense. 2) We are to be holy rather than worldly, no longer shaped by the passions of our former ignorance but set apart for God. 3) We are to take this call to holiness seriously, recognizing it as a command that strengthens our witness and reflects God’s character to a watching world.
These reflection questions can help us examine our hearts: Have we fully submitted to Christ’s Lordship? Does our manner of life show obedience to our Heavenly Father? Are we shaped more by the world or by Christ? Ultimately, this passage calls us to fix our hope on the grace revealed in Jesus Christ and to pursue the holiness of the One who has called us.

Pastor Andrew Coleman continues our sermon series in 1 Peter by preaching on 1 Peter 1: 13-21. After reminding believers of the greatness of their salvation, Peter turns to how believers ought to live in response. The call is clear: prepare your minds for action, be spiritually alert, and set your hope completely on the grace that will be revealed when Jesus returns.
The hope of the believer is a confident mindset rooted in God’s promises. Because of Christ’s precious blood, we’ve been ransomed from our old, empty way of life and called to live in holiness. God Himself is holy, and His children are to reflect His character in all they do.
Peter reminds us: your salvation was planned before the foundation of the world, accomplished through Jesus’ death and resurrection, and applied to you by the Holy Spirit. In light of that, live with reverent fear, unwavering hope, and wholehearted devotion to God.

In today's sermon, Pastor Andrew Coleman preaches on 1 Peter 1: 10-12. In this passage, Peter reminds weary believers just how glorious their salvation is. The prophets longed to see it, the apostles boldly preached it, the Holy Spirit brings it to life in believers' hearts, and even the angels marvel at it!
Our salvation is no small thing—it’s God’s eternal plan fulfilled through Jesus’ death and resurrection, proclaimed by faithful messengers, and applied by the Spirit’s power. When trials and discouragement weigh us down, remembering the greatness of our salvation renews our hope, deepens our love for Christ, and fills us with joy.

In this message from 1 Peter 1:3–9, Pastor Andrew Coleman shows how genuine faith and love for Christ lead to the salvation of our souls. Even though we have not seen Jesus, we can believe in Him and love Him because of who He is and what He has done. Peter's own story—from failure to faithful witness—reminds us that God's mercy gives us a living hope that sustains us through trials. Faith and love are not just our response but God’s gifts to us through Christ. This message encourages believers to rejoice in their salvation, even in the midst of suffering.

In this message, Pastor Andrew Coleman preaches from 1 Peter 1: 6–7, and we take a closer look at how God uses trials to grow our faith and to bring Him glory. Peter is writing to Christians who were suffering for their faith, reminding them (and us) that even when life is hard, God hasn’t forgotten us—He’s actually working through the pain for our good.
God’s Word doesn’t shy away from hard topics. It tells us the truth about suffering: it’s real, it hurts, and it’s often necessary. But it also tells us why—because God uses trials to test and strengthen our faith, like gold refined in fire. And when our faith is proven real, it results in something amazing: glory to God and deep joy for us.
In 1 Peter 1: 6-7 we find several key takeaways--Trials don’t last forever—but they do have a purpose. God uses hard things to make our faith stronger, deeper, and more focused on Him. There is no kind of trial that God’s grace does not cover. You are not alone—Jesus Himself suffered, and He shows us how to trust God in the middle of it. When your faith is tested and you keep trusting God, He gets the glory, and you get the joy!
Whether you’re going through something painful right now or preparing for what’s ahead, this passage can bring you great hope! God is not wasting your trials—He’s using them to shape your heart, anchor your hope, and draw you closer to Him.

In today's sermon, Pastor Ben Nistor preaches from 1 Peter 1:1-9. As we dive into 1 Peter 1:3–5, we are reminded that God, in His great mercy, has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This hope isn’t wishful thinking—it’s rooted in the unshakable truth of Christ’s victory over death and the eternal inheritance that awaits every believer.
Even amidst suffering, trials, and persecution, followers of Jesus can rejoice knowing that their faith—refined by fire—is more precious than gold and will result in praise, glory, and honor when Christ is revealed. Our inheritance is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven by God’s power, and we are being guarded through faith until the final day of salvation. As believers, we can TAKE HEART! No matter the hardship, our hope in Christ is secure—both now and forever.

What is Persecution? | 1 Peter 1-5 | Pastor Andrew Coleman | July 6, 2025
Monday Jul 07, 2025
Monday Jul 07, 2025
In this message, Pastor Andrew Coleman unpacks what the Bible says about persecution—what it is, why it happens, and how believers are called to respond. From social rejection and slander to imprisonment and even martyrdom, Scripture shows us that suffering for Christ is not a surprise—it's part of our calling. Drawing from 1 Peter and church history, this sermon encourages believers to face trials with courage, hope, and unwavering faith in God's grace and glory. “If anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed…” – 1 Peter 4:16.
